U8/U9 SUMMER CAMP
This camp is designed for Under 8 and First Year Squirt players. This is a very important age group of hockey players because they are at their "just past" beginning stages of skill level and possibly reaching their intermediate stage of skills. Our coaching staff will focus on the very important skills that are often forgot about due to lack of ice time, knowledge, and/or correct repetition. When parents and coaches see a well-rounded player at peewee, it often times has to do with that player being taught CONSISTENT habits that now come naturally at age 11 and on. WE are excited to build our youth hockey players at the youngest ages so Kansas City can be a staple in the hockey community! Below are the details
CAMP DETAILS
Skating
Skating is the most important concept of hockey. This skill needs to be instructed and repeatedly practice correctly
Stops/Starts
This may sound basic and elementary, but this is a huge skill to learn correctly in order for a player to confidently skate, shoot, stickhandle, etc.
Edgework
Understanding how your edges work and being comfortable on those edges will transform a players skating ability
Puck Work
Stick handling, shooting, passing, etc. It will all be taught and developed. Skating comes first in order to be able to maintain the puck!
